anyone have a horse for lease in PA?
i am looking for a horse for lease near altoona. i am thirteen and have gotten permission from my parents to ask this question online. i have went to all the stables close to my house and have not found a horse i liked. i have ridden for seven years, both english and western, but i prefer english. i love ponies as long as they are above 13.2 hands and i love to ride bareback and on trails. i do jump once in awhile and i dont show often. i have had a lot of experience with many different horses, i have trained a newly broken horse and have completely trained a troubled horse that had shy problems. im not much of a slow horse person, i prefer to hold one back than to push one on. i also like to trick train. my family is having financial problems right now so i cant afford more than a $100 lease. if the horse needs shoes than i can probably pay for the shoeing bill too. please, if u find or have a horse for me, please contact me, im desperate!!!!!
i have been a stable hand at a stable for three years and the first year i did stalls in exchange for lessons. the past three summers i have done 16 stalls every day for 50 cents a stall, i earned over $1,600. but my mom said i cant spend this money, this is why i would like to lease. the stable i worked for, i could ride every horse there, even the newly broke three year olds, all the boarders loved me, but then i moved to altoona and i cant find a stable that will board a horse for me in exchange for stable work.
i have tried many of the horse websites but i cant find a free off farm lease or at least a cheap one. my family cant afford much right now but i dont want that to end my riding.

well you probably wont find a horse on hear for only a $100 lease but try these websites
I was in the same sitiaution as you are in right now. I got a job at a stable and instead of them paying me I got lessons on their horses in exchanged for my hard work…..so call around places and see if you can do something like that.
I wish I could help you, but Altoona is too far from me. I’m closer to Quakertown. Try posting an ad at a feed store or tack shop. Keep trying. Something will turn up.
I found my horse on dreamhorse.com - he was up for sale only but I contacted the owner to see if they really needed to get rid of him or if he just needed more time, etc. And since they didn’t need to get rid of him we worked out a lease option, we paid board and they paid vet/farrier/etc. fees.
If you find a horse you really like but it doesn’t say “For Lease” contact the owner and see if you can work something out, unless of course it says they need to get rid of the horse or no leasing or something like that.
Good luck.
