We used to have 4 cats. One of them always peed in the corner near the litter box, but not in it. We found out that cats don’t like the feeling of foil on their paws. So we laid down aluminum foil where the cat pottied and we kept it there until she used the litter box. It worked for us. Good luck :]]

Tie or glue his paws to the bottom of the litterbox

Make sure you have enough litter boxes and that the kitten doesn’t have anything medical going on. If you have at least 2 litter boxes and nothing medical is going on with cat, clean up each mess with a good pet stain/ odor remover, like Simple Solutions *they have this in an orange fragrance that smells great!* and spray the areas they keep using for a potty. Place something like tin foil or double sided tape in the areas they are using as a toilet to discourage them from using that area. Good Luck!

Where ever it is the 6 month old seems to like to go to the bathrom is where u should move the litter box over. i’ve done it a million times. it usually works like a charm. but the cat may also just move its “bathroom’ to a new area. put paper over the spot the 6 month old like to use and then the litter box. it may or may not help.

How many litter tray’s do you have? Try locking the 6 mth old in a small room with a litter tray? or a small confind room or watching for signs that he or she needs to go and actually picking them up and placing them in the litter tray? And if this does succeed don’t forget to praise and reward the cat with affection and a small treat. I have successfully litter trained a baby rabbit who is house trained and loving every minute of her freedom? GOOD LUCK?

Some cats dislike sharing a litter box with others, or don’t want to use the same litter box for both urination and defecation.

The Celia Haddon Cat Problem page has a check list of 18 reasons why cats stop using a litter box which you may find very helpful.

Whether the first time was a genuine accident or not, be sure to clean the soiled areas thoroughly with enzymatic cleaning products. Otherwise, as long as the cat can detect their own scent, they will be attracted to use the same spot as a toilet. The web site above also has an article on the most effective methods of cleaning.

    Hope this helps.
